Variant Angina: Why do you Ignore Spasm of Coronary Arteries?
Many authors reported on variant (form of) angina (Prinzmetal’s Variant Angina, vasospastic angina) till 1990s on the various aspects of this disease. However, in this century, articles on this very important disease have become very few.

Provocative Testing for Coronary Reactivity and Spasm
Coronary spasm is an important and often overlooked etiology of chest pain. Although coronary spasm, or Prinzmetal's angina, has been thought of as benign, contemporary studies have shown serious associated adverse outcomes, including acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmia, and death.

Coronary Artery Spasm: Review and Update
Coronary artery spasm (CAS), an intense vasoconstriction of coronary arteries that causes total or subtotal vessel occlusion, plays an important role in myocardial ischemic syndromes including stable and unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death.

The Who, What, Why, When, How and Where of Vasospastic Angina
Ischemic heart disease involves both “structural” and/or “functional” disorders of the coronary circulation. Structural atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD) is well recognized, with established diagnostic and treatment strate-gies. In contrast, “functional CAD” has received limited attention and is seldom actively pursued in the investigation of ischemic heart disease.

Coronary artery spasm: What is it and what are the treatment options?

Current Concepts in Coronary Artery Spasm
Coronary artery spasm is an abnormality of coronary vascular smooth muscle contraction that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The underlying pathophysiological process has remained unclear since Myron Prinzmetal described it in 1959. This article reviews current literature of the pathogenesis and outlines clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment options.
