Hello, I'm new here
Geeske
Hi there,

After much research I recently a diagnosis of Prinzmetal angina and do not know what to expect. I have a brilliant cardiologist, but he and the other specialists can not predict what will happen. Currently, there are also running some tests for Ehlers Danlos 4. This is because 2 of my neck arteries have been closed down. That led to two strokes at age 18. Then there was only one artery closed. Now I am 34 and I have a heart attack on March 31 last year. Since then they have me on the examinations. During one of these studies showed that not one but two (of 4) are closed.
The cardiologist is trying to get the symptoms manageable but despite all their efforts I am permanently exhausted by this thing.
Regarding my work, I am / was secretary board of directors, since March I am unable to work. I know that I am a heart patient and that certainly affects my career. But that aside. Before I got sick my friend and I were trying to get pregnant and I myself have had a miscarriage in April probably as result. The doctors are cautious in their statements about the further development of my life. In June, I have an appointment with a cardiologist professor who specializes in vascular spasm in young women. Because I found this was very long and I can find no information how this life I would like to hear experiences of others in this situation.
Despite the above I try to do fun things. I also have a custom sports I am quite happy to hold on. It's not always easy to maintain but it makes me feel positive about myself.

Love to hear,
Geeske

Hi Geeske

...and a warm welcome to this site.

I don't know anything about Ehlers Danlos 4, so all I can help you with is questions about Prinzmetal Variant Angina or the Cardiac Syndrome X.

From what I understand what you specifiably want to know is your future with Prinzmetal.

The exhaustion you suffer from due to the Prinzmetal is sadly very normal. It's one of the things that comes with the disease. In december I put the finishing hand on a reportabout Prinzmetal and Syndrome X, based on 52 questions, on the dDanishpart of the site. One of the questions was if ”you suffer from extreme tiredness”, and here 100 % of the voters voted yes.

In the same survey, there was also a question ”if you had to give up working on normal terms in a job”. The sad statistic is that 75 % voted yes, and only 25 % voted no. I myself is, just like you, only 34 years old. And I had to go into early retirement – despite the fact that it was tried with a job with only 15 hours a week. But my health just could not keep up, and my use of medication (Nitroglycerin Spray) to control the spasms, went through the roof. My hope is, that now I decide what to do and more impotently what not to do, can give me the peace that my heart so clearly needs.

It sounds like a great idea that you have an appointment with the professor. It in most cases will make a big difference that you have a cardiologist that knows what he/she is talking about. And hopefully they will find a combination of medication, that can relieve some of the symptoms that you have.

Hi Gitte,
Thank you for your comment! To my great surprise called the professor in this area relevant to me! He wants me really happy to see him at the clinic. This event is scheduled for March 11 this year. I am very happy because I was previously told that I could visit in June. So a windfall! I will share my experience this first visit on this forum.
Since January I started the medicine Nipedifine with the side effects, headache, extreme tired (really could do nothing while I wish i could), heart palpitations and shaky. Since yesterday I am stopped and I already feel stronger. Hopefully strong enough to be something different than just taking shower.

How are you?

Kind regards,
Geeske

Hi Geeske

That´s great that the professor moved up the date, hope fully he'll be able to help you. Will be looking forward to hear how it went. Do you have his name? Just thought that maybe he did som research in prinzmetal or the cardiac syndrome x.

My prinzmetal have really been acting up lately, main reason is proabebly the cold weather, so I´m really looking forward to the spring. But if it does not change within a day or two I will have to contact my doctor, been really ill the last few days – just can not catch my breath.

Joan, I have myocardial bridging. It is where a coronary artery is under the heart muscle instead of on top. Issue is can be squeezed and feel like a heart attack or is you CAD, can be serious. Usu
